  • Lara, you are missing the point. I have no issues with women exposing themselve to injury, they do it every day in sports, the military, getting in a car, etc. My post was regarding the concept posted by CJ that these are "legal moves" so therefore not dangerous, etc.

  • CIN, as someone who also practiced martial arts for years, and sparred against women at the dojo, I can ASSURE you most if not all the men you sparred against pulled their kicks and punches to some degree.

  • Obviously you have never wrestled competatively and have very little understanding of the sport. To you I am sure it is just a bunch of guys/gals rolling around on a mat getting sweaty in a Onesie.

  • James, I competed in Tae Kwon Do for years, the men and women compete in seperate divisions.

  • Lisa-499473 I know her skill level because I read up on the issue and also used to wrestle myself. Qualifying for state tournaments is based upon the section, district, and region of the state you live in. Some states have more "rounds/tourneys" others fewer.

  • Why exactly do women not box against men, or compete in the same division in Martial Arts?? Hmmm, seems like those are physical sports that use weight classes, rules, a ref, etc, must be missing something....Oh yeah, they are violent physical sports where an athlete can get seriously hurt.

  • Sara, you obviously have not wrestled competatively and have no understanding of the sport, the contact involved, and the physical aspect of the sport. I wrestled myself and had to have stitches on two occasions, broke 3 fingers, and can't tell you how many eyes were blackened.

  • Disservice? He felt it was inappropriate to whoop up on a girl, which he would would have done given the difference in skill level between the two.

  • Nebraska you are completely missing the point unfortunately. He was the favorite to win the entire class, she most likely won't win her first actual match (according to expectations). To say he wimped out is ludicrous.
